Prescription Line is open between 10am and 1pm daily. 

We do not accept requests via the telephone for repeat medications. Medications can be ordered via our online services /  NHS App / Via your Pharmacy or alternatively you can write a request and post it through the surgery door.

Repeat prescriptions take 3 working days to process once the request is received at the surgery.

Please order you repeat prescriptions by post, using the online form (via the link at the top of this page) or in person.

If you want to use the online method please call into the surgery reception with photo ID (driving licence or passport) and we will give you access. 

You can tick the items you require on the right hand side of your prescription or write out your request yourself (please ensure you name your medication). If you enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope we will post it back to you.

We do not take repeat prescriptions requests over the telephone. Please note that there may be times when the doctor will wish to see you before issuing further repeat prescriptions.

Please allow three working days from receipt of your request before collecting it from your nominated pharmacy.  Please make allowances for weekends and bank holidays. Please allow 3 days, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery choosing option 2 for Prescriptions.  Lines are open between 10:00 - 13:00 Monday - Friday.

NHS England has recommended that medicines for minor ailments such as colds, hay fever and mild dry skin should no longer be routinely prescribed.  Please purchase these in future, with advice from a pharmacy if needed.  More info is available at www.nhs.uk/OTCmedicines.

We will be shortly stocking over the counter medicines at reception for your convenience please ask at reception.

Help with NHS costs

In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:

• those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
• those who are age exempt
• those with certain medical conditions
• More information is available at NHS Choices

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

• Prescription (per item): £9.65
• 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £111.60
• 3-month PPC: £31.25

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.

NHS Northamptonshire CCG has taken the decision not to continue to provide gluten free bread or mixes to patients diagnosed with coeliac disease since these products are now available via supermarkets, community pharmacy or Coeliac UK.

You may find Coeliac UK website https://www.coeliac.org.uk/home/  helpful as it contains lots of useful information about coeliac disease including information on gluten free food safety and a gluten free diet on a budget.
