Thank you for your responses to the most recent Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire.
As a result of this we have made changes to improve our appointment system.
Appointments are now available to book to have your flu vaccine, for those aged 65 years and over or 65 before 31st March 2020 your vaccine will be in week commencing 9th September 2019. Please book via reception.
These can be made by telephoning the surgery on 716500 or by calling in to the surgery in person. As demand on appointments is so high, it is not always possible to see your first choice of doctor and you may be offered an appointment with another doctor. Patients requesting urgent appointments for problems that they consider must be seen that day are initially asked to leave their telephone number for the triage doctor/nurse to contact them (see next section).
Routine doctor's appointments are released two working days and one week in advance. Routine nurse appointments and clinics can be booked four weeks in advance. Short-term appointments for minor illness with a clinician are booked on-the-day and some can be booked 48 hours ahead. When these appointments have all been taken you may be asked to call again the following day when more will open.
Online appointments are also available to book up to 4 weeks in advance. You can book routine blood tests, cervical screening, Asthma Reviews and GP appointments.
If you no longer require an appointment that you have booked, please cancel it with as much notice as possible so that it may be given to someone else.
All patients requesting urgent appointments are telephoned either by the duty doctor or our nurse practitioner. They may then be given advice or an appointment with a doctor or nurse as appropriate. Our nurses are highly qualified and are trained to advise on and treat minor illness or injuries.
